Jack Charlton 1935- 2020

It was a sad day when we heard ‘Big’ Jack Charlton had passed.

It would be difficult to name anyone else who has influenced the game of football in Ireland more than Jack. In Ireland he was more than just a football figure. He was a legend. Larger than life and larger than football. He had the whole country rocking in ’88 ,’90 and ’94. Can you remember where you were when Ray Houghton scored? I bet you can. The whole country was on the streets dancing and celebrating.

It is only fitting that HCYFC paid tribute to Jack. Our kids honoured Jack with a minutes silence during their FAI summer camp on Tuesday.

RIP Jack Charlton.
